LIVE SHIPPING DELAYED DUE TO FREEZING TEMPERATURES IN KOOTENAYS

Hello!

Unfortunately we need to delay live shipping this week.

Our local weather here in Trail, B.C. (Kootenays) primarily Castlegar area has shifted since our last update. What originally looked like manageable temperatures has now dropped back into freezing overnight / -0 daytime conditions with some cooler daytime highs, which puts live shipments at risk for the hours spent in Castlegar pending flights.

Over the next several days we are expecting daytime temperatures mostly in the 5–7 °C range with overnight lows dipping below freezing, which is not safe for live transit even with insulated packaging and heat packs which only function as expected at above 10 °C

Because of this, all live shipments scheduled for this upcoming week will be temporarily delayed.

The good news is that the extended outlook is showing a much stronger warming trend heading into next week, with daytime temperatures expected to climb significantly and stabilize. If those forecasts hold, we should be able to resume normal shipping shortly after that to select areas where daytime highs reflect that.

We know delays are frustrating, but live arrival safety always comes first and we will not ship when conditions could endanger the animals.

We will continue watching the forecasts daily and will post another update as soon as the warming trend confirms.

Thank you all for your patience while we wait for proper spring weather.

*We had hoped for some Mississauga bound shipments to go out this week, that will not work now and it seems to be for the best as UPS / Purolator / Canada post all experienced major delays this week in Ontario.
