The Chinese mantis is a large, fast-growing species native to Asia but well established in North America. Known for its impressive size, camouflage, and active hunting behavior, Tenodera sinensis makes an excellent insect for classroom study or as an educational pet at home.
At Arthropods Canada, we hatch this species year-round. All individuals are captive-bred, well-started, and feeding before shipping. They are easy to care for, highly engaging to watch, and grow quickly, making them ideal for observing insect life cycles and behaviors.

my mantis came packed nicely, along with my blue bottle fly larvae. some flies hatched in the mail, but that’s totally expected. My mantis has been super cool to watch, and has even already had her first molt! super cool to watch.

We love our two mantids! They came healthy and active, packaged well and they are fascinating! They Iove coming out of their enclosures and exploring and they are eating well. We can’t wait to watch them grow!
I got 3 for the price of one since these can be a little fragile at a young age. I got them at L3. They're so friendly and always love uppies! They do get rather large, so they'll require an enclosure bigger than the average size used for jumping spiders. Included, is a screenshot of my coolest looking one as it looks to have red coloring along with green and brown. Also, customer service couldn't be any better as any questions I had were answered with great detail. Jojo obviously cares very much for the well-being of all the creatures he sells.
